Willis S. McLeese Award
The Willis S.McLeese Award is so named in recognition of the immense contribution Mr. McLeese has made to Canadian debating. He was CSDF Treasurer for many years; his work in fund-raising was essential to the continued existence of the CSDF. Latterly, he established the Willis S.McLeese Chair in Canadian Debating at the Canadian Student Debating Federation and at Upper Canada College. In addition, his endowment provides for the McLeese Opportunities Fund that, together with the McLeese Chair, supports and advances student debate and public speaking through the development of outreach programs and access to resources and training workshops for coaches and students throughout the country.
The award may be presented annually by each CSDF Member Association to a person who has made an outstanding contribution to debate in its jurisdiction. The CSDF Board of Directors may also present the award annually to deserving individuals.

In some jurisdictions the Award recipients may already have been presented with an award locally. In those cases, please forward the names of this year’s recipients so we can officially recognize all of the Award recipients on the national stage.
