Highlights
The 2010-11 Seminar was a unique northern experience. Associated activities included storytelling, northern music, Dene games, outdoor activities from dog-mushing to ice-fishing, and traditional Canadian winter sports.
On the debating side, the Seminar featured two rounds of debate modeled on the NWT's consensus style of government, two rounds of parliamentary and two rounds of cross-examination debate. The Seminar theme was "Northern Issues". Resolutions were:
- Should cultural preservation be a top government priority?
- Resource development is more important than environmental protection.
- Canada should take more active measures to assert sovereignty over the Arctic.
