2009 National Seminar
On behalf of the Board of Directors, it is my pleasure to announce that the 2009 National Student Debating Seminar has been awarded to the Manitoba Speech and Debate Association. The Seminar will be hosted by Jordan Burg of St. Mary's Academy and will take place in Winnipeg from Wednesday, October 14 to Sunday October 18, 2009 (with Tuesday and Monday as travel days).
The two-day Team Canada Selection Tournament will also take place in Winnipeg following the Seminar on Monday, October 19 and Tuesday October 20, 2009.
The theme for this year's National Seminar is Funding of the Arts.
The Cross-ex Resolution is BIRT that public money should be used to support the arts.
The Parliamentary Resolution is This House would abolish copyright.
Registration
Please follow the step-by-step instructions below to register for the 2009 National Student Debating Seminar in Winnipeg, Manitoba. Please view the complete invitation for full details regarding the Seminar. A printer-friendly version of the invitation can be found here.
Step 1: Download the appropriate registration form below (please note the separate forms for student and adult delegates), fill in all required information and e-mail the form to Seminar Registrar Carolyn Bennett at seminar@csdf-fcde.ca

Step 2: Download, read and sign the Agreements and Waivers below. Once completed, mail or fax the forms to Seminar Registrar Carolyn Bennett at the information listed. Please note that adult delegates need only submit the Liability Release portion of the package.

Step 3: Book your travel to the National Seminar (please see the Official Invitation for dates and suggested arrival times) and send an itemized receipt to Seminar Registrar via e-mail at seminar@csdf-fcde.ca.
Step 4: Send in the registration fee ($400 until September 16, $500 thereafter) by e-mail money transfer to seminar@csdf-fcde.ca or by cheque (made payable to Canadian Student Debating Federation) to:

Step 5: Download and read the CSDF Rules of Debate (these rules will be posted soon, so check back regularly)
Team Canada Selection Tournament
The Invitation to the Team Canada Selection Tournament can be found here. All student are advised to download the Note for Adjudicators from the rules section of the WSDC website, and bring them along to the try-out. Please follow the instructions below to register for the Tournament:
If you are attending the Try-Out in addition to the National Seminar:
Step 1: Complete the full National Seminar Registration Instructions above.
Step 2: Send in your additional $100 registration fee for the try-out tournment by e-mail money transfer to seminar@csdf-fcde.ca or by cheque (made payable to Canadian Student Debating Federation) to:
