Cape Breton Juniors Heading to Oxford Four Whitney Pier Memorial Junior High School debaters have been invited to attend The International Young Debaters Tournament at Oxford University in England. It's the first time a junior high school from Nova Scotia has been invited to the tournament. Read the story from the Cape Breton Post here.

Fall 2007 National Seminar concluded in British Columbia! Students visited Grouse Mountain, the Capilano Suspension Bridge, the provincial legislature and engaged in debates on climate change throughout an action-packed week. Pictures and results will be posted in the National Seminar section as they become available.

Canada's team to the European Debating Championships Announced!

Team members Kees de Ridder (Alberta), Tim Abdulla (Manitoba), Scott Stirrett (Nova Scotia) and Daniel Lewis (Nova Scotia) will travel to Stuttgart, Germany in January for this prestigious event.

Team Canada places fourth in Seoul!!

Sean Barron, Kierstin Lundell Smith, Caroline Ness, Andrew Rusk and Sean Stefanik under the coaching of Martin Poirier. After battling their way to the semi-finals, the team dropped in a 3-2 judging split to Singapore on the resolution "This House would paritition Iraq". Congratulations on a wonderful showing!
